NOBLESVILLE- In their first contest this season outside the city of South Bend, Saint Joseph fell to Guerin Catholic by a 9 to 5 count.
The Tribe struck early with a goal just 19 seconds into the game when senior Luke Thomas snuck a shot past the Golden Eagle goalkeeper. Following a Guerin Catholic goal, Thomas struck again to give the Indians a 2-1 with 9:33 remaining in the first period.
After trailing 4-2 at halftime, the Indians conceded two goals early in third before Zach Yergler scored with 3:24 remaining to make the score 5-3. Joe Saratore and Antonio Morrell both added fourth quarter goals to account for the remainder of the Saint Joseph scoring.
Ben Bailey tallied eleven saves to lead the Tribe defense.
