SOUTH BEND- Despite an early three goal deficit, St. Joe rallied to defeat Brebeuf Jesuit 8-7 at Leighton Stadium. The Indians trailed 3-0 after the first quarter before storming back with five goals in the second quarter. Sophomore Flynn Leonard’s goal at the halftime buzzer pulled the Tribe into a five all tie at halftime.
St. Joe fell behind again in the fourth, trailing 7 to 6 with under three minutes remaining. For the second consecutive game, the Indians used a late rally to pull out the win. Junior Jack Plomin tied the game with 2:49 left. Fifteen seconds later, senior Luke Thomas tallied what would be the eventual game winner.
Sophomore Antonio Morrell led all SJHS scores with three goals. Thomas added two while Zach Yergler added one.
